Kajal

Kajal is made from ground lead sulfide or antimony sulfide and it appears thick and black in color. Kajal is used as eyeliner and it is also applied on the inside corner of the eye to make them look good and also to get the cool effect. Kajal is also applied on the forehead or the cheeks of newborn babies, as it is believed that Kajal protects them from evil eye. Kajal is also known by the name of kohl and several women use it since many centuries. Kohl has medicinal properties and hence it is very safe to use it. Applying Kajal cures many eye ailments too.

Due to its enhancements properties, Kajal has also become an inseparable aspect of makeup. Kajal is easily available in almost all shops and it comes in small boxes or as pencils. It can be prepared at home too by mixing soot of an oil lamp and clarified butter. For applying Kajal in your eyes, first take it on your fingertip and apply it on the inner rim of the lower eyelid. Many women also apply it on the upper eyelid. Pull the lower part of your eye, so as to make the eye wide open and then apply the Kajal inside the eye. After this you can apply your eyeliner to define the shape of your eyes well.

It is your wish to decide the length of applying Kajal. You can put Kajal along the full length of your eyes or put it in three-fourth, one half or one-fourth part of your eyes. In case you are interested in making your small eyes appear bigger then you can put Kajal in only half-length of your eyes that is from the middle to the outer corner of your eyes. With practice you will come to know about the exact length that makes your eyes look beautiful. You can make your eyes look soft by applying Kajal. As mentioned earlier it also cures various eye ailments and hence it is very safe to put Kajal in the eyes.

 In many urban and rural households, it is a very common thing to apply Kajal in the eyes of the babies and infants. This makes sure that the babies and the infants are free from any kind of eye ailments. You can store the Kajal in refrigerator before applying it in your eyes. This will increase the cool and soothing feeling that the Kajal can give to your eyes. There are various kinds and brands of Kajal are available in the market. The correct way to apply Kajal is explained below-

  1. Wash your face and clean your eyes. This is to ensure that your eyes don’t have any kind of dust or dirt particles before applying Kajal.
  2. In case you feel that the area around the eyes is too dry then apply some moisturizer or if it is oily then apply some powder.
  3. In case you are using pencil then make sure that the tip of the pencil is blunt. Then pull the lower eyelid and apply the pencil from the inner side of the eye to the outer side. Repeat the line two to three times. Do the same procedure for the second eye also.
  4. Apply the pencil on the upper eyelid also in the same manner. You are ready with beautiful looking eyes.
