But a good effective skin care is incomplete without exfoliation. Exfoliation is very effective in making your skin look younger and also gives blemishes free skin. You know that everyday many cells die and new cells replace them. This process occurs daily and in your daily busy life, you don’t even seem to notice it. The dead cells falls out on its own and the new skin takes its place making your skin as soft and smooth as it was before. But due to many reason when this dead cells doesn’t get removed from your skin then your skin starts accumulating this dead cells layers and thus look dull. Not only does it look dull but also blocks the pores on your skin and acne and blackheads start appearing on your skin.

In exfoliation method, you get rid from these dead cells and thus solve the basic cause of all the skin problems. There are two main methods of exfoliation – Chemical Exfoliation and Abrasive Exfoliation. In chemical exfoliation salicylic acid or hydroxy acids are used to remove the dead skin while in abrasive exfoliation jojoba beads or groundnuts are used while preparing the liquid cleansers. You can even use both these methods together to get better results. The abrasive exfoliations come in different sizes and there are different products for exfoliating the face and exfoliating the feet.

Exfoliation – The actual process

Wash your face with mild soap and make your skin wet with bearable warm water. Apply exfoliate on your skin and start massaging this exfoliate into your skin using circular motions. You can either massage with your fingers or facial sponge. Avoid applying exfoliate under the eye area. Rub it gently on your skin with adequate pressure. Do it for some time and then wash your face with warm water. With a clean towel pat dry your skin. Then apply toner on your skin, as this will tone the new cells that will get exposed due to the removal of dead skin.

After applying toner to the new cells, apply moisturizer on your skin. Due to exfoliation the dead cells get removed from the skin and thus it might give you some strange tingling sensation for about 20 minutes. Hence while using it for the first time, there is no need to get scared or worried about this tingling sensation. After few application of exfoliate you will not find this sensations worrisome at all. But if you are using it for the first time, to check whether exfoliate that you are going to use is suitable for your skin apply it in small quantity on your hands and check out. If there is no reactions of your skin with exfoliate then it is suitable for your skin.
