The inflammation and the demyelination of the optic nerve that serves the retina of the eye are called as optic neuritis (ON). The common symptoms of this condition are blurred vision, loss of visual acuity, partial or complete blindness, and pain in the back region of the eyes and partial loss or complete loss of color vision. At the onset of multiple sclerosis, optic neuritis is a common condition. Almost 70% people who have multiple sclerosis will suffer from optic neuritis.
