Dandruff is caused by the fungal infection known as Malassezia, which feeds on the oil secreted by the hair follicles. This fungal infection can spread if anyone uses the same towel, comb and brushes of the affected person. Dandruff can be either waxy or dry. Once the type of dandruff is known the treatment for dandruff is easy to decide. Waxy dandruff forms the patches of dead skin on the scalp while the dry dandruff is present in white pieces all over the scalp and hair. There are several treatments available to cure dandruff including several home remedies.
You can either consult your doctor or try home remedies for dandruff. Both these options are good and effective for the cure of this hair problem. Make sure that if you are planning to try any home remedy then it is safe for your hair. Try only the tired and tested remedies by others. Take the home remedies from a reliable source and then only try them. But prevention will be a better thing to do rather than the cure.
