Like skin types there are also hair types. People have different hair types somewhat similar to that of skin types. Dry hair, oily hair and balanced hair are the three hair types and people have any of these kinds of hairs. It is quite easy to know your hair type. To know what types of hair you have, you can do this small experiment at home. Take one tissue paper and on the second day after you wash your hair, press that tissue on your scalp. If the tissue paper has a oil blot then you have balanced types of hair. If the tissue paper has no oil mark then you have dry hair and if the tissue paper is very much greasy then your hair type is oily.
Hair Types – Dry Hair
Inactive oil glands are the main reason behind having dry hair. Overexposure to the sun, frequent use of harsh shampoo and several other chemical treatments are also some of the other reason for making your hair dry. The collected oil on your scalp blocks the pores and thus acts like a obstacle and prevent the oil from flowing to the surface. This could also be the possible reason behind having dry hair. If you hairs are dry then the hairs will need lots of nourishment to become healthy.
If your hair type is dry then you will need to take good care of hair so that they remain healthy and wont fall easily. Take any herbal oil and massage it gently into your scalp and hair. Doing this two times in a week will be a good treatment for your dry hair. Make sure that your diet is rich in zinc, as zinc is really good nourishment for your hair. Use mild shampoo so that your hair doesn't get damaged with the chemicals present in the harsh shampoo. The harsh shampoo can remove the protein layer from the hair and makes the scalp drier. Avoid using hair dryers and curlers, as it will add to the dryness of your hair.
Hair Types – Oily Hair
If you have oily skin then your chances of having oily hair are also more. The over active oil glands are the main reason behind having oily hair. It is very easy to recognize this hair type, as hair and scalp appear greasy even after shampooing the hair. Oily hair attracts more dust and that is why they are more prone to looking dirty often. Make sure that you wash your hair at least twice in a week or more than that. Using lemon over oily hair is also one of the best home remedies to remove the oiliness of the hair. Make sure that your shampoo contains neem and henna. You can massage you hair with herbal oil once in week, as it will balance the pH level of the scalp. Say no to oily food and includes lots of green vegetables and fruits in your diet.
