Head louse is a highly productive thing that can easily live in the human hair on the head. Lice infestation happens at a rapid rate and before you know that you are having lice, there are already several active and highly productive lice moving in your head. If one person in your family gets affected with lice then soon your entire family will get lice in their head. The lice can easily spread form one head to other head. This shows that lice infestation happens at a great speed. Mostly lice pass from child to child in school, as kids love to play very close to each other. Then slowly from child the lice slowly pass to adults also.
When your children will start going to school, he or she will get lice infestation while playing with classmates. When you will hug your child then it will pass from your child's head to your head. The reason for this is girls have long hair and hence it becomes easier for the lice to spread from one girl to other. Even if a single louse enters your head it starts laying eggs and thus within few days your head becomes full of lice. In the life cycle of louse there are three developmental stages. The first stage is egg and which is of the size of grain of sand. The eggs are near to the scalp or else they wont be able to survive. The second stage is known as nymph stage or in short a newborn louse. The louse will appear of the size of sesame seed. The final stage is the adult louse. It will appear like an ant and it will have 6 legs, head, abdomen and thorax.
Lice infestation has few common symptoms that will help you identify your lice problem. You will feel that something is crawling on your head and you will feel so because the head lice are moving on your head. You will also get a tickling sensation whenever the lice will move on your head. You will get a strong urge of itching your scalp many times in the day and night. Chronic itching is a kind of allergic reaction to the lice bites. These lice feed on the blood and for that they bite the scalp. Due to itching and scratching sores will develop on your head. Lice infestation can be stopped with the help of various shampoos and creams available in the market for getting rid from lice.
