Pregnant Women

Pregnant women have to take good care of their health so as to ensure that they have a healthy pregnancy. The regular care is also helpful in keeping both mother and the child healthy. If you have confirmed your pregnancy then you will also have to take good care of yourself now onwards. First time pregnant women are the one's who find it very difficult to control their emotions and always look for someone who will guide them. The one thing that the pregnant women have to do is visit their doctor and have regular medical checkups done.

Pregnant women need to have a medical checkup done after every month till the complete the seventh month of their pregnancy and after that in every 15 days till they reach in the ninth month of the pregnancy. After that the doctor will call the pregnant women for a weekly checkup until she delivers. Along with the medical checkup, the pregnant women should also ensure that they eat healthy food, as it is very important for the normal growth of their fetus. Vegetables, fruits, meat, milk; low fat diary products should be all part of the diet.

Dehydration and the constipation are the common problems during pregnancy. To avoid getting these problems the pregnant women should drink plenty of water. Pregnant women should avoid food like raw eggs, processed meat and un-pasteurized milk, as these things contain a bacterium named listeria, which can lead to premature delivery, fetal death or miscarriage. Avoid taking any kinds of medicines during the first three months of the pregnancy. Only take the medicines that are prescribed by the doctor. Smoking, alcohol and caffeine should be avoided during pregnancy.

Pregnant women should also be careful while exercising. During the first few weeks of the pregnancy practice only simple exercises. Exercising will ensure that the labor length and the recovery time will be less and even make the pregnant lady emotionally stable to face the sudden changes post the delivery. If done in limit exercising is beneficial during pregnancy, as it reduces the chances of premature delivery. The exercising also helps in gaining a healthy weight. Safe kinds of exercises during pregnancy are swimming, low impact aerobics, walking and Yoga. If the pregnant lady goes to gym for exercising then she should make sure that her trainer knows about her pregnancy status.

Pregnant women require proper rest also. For this reason during the pregnancy a women should sleep about 10 to 11 hours a day. Sleeping on the left side is effective, as it increase the blood circulation to the baby. After nap is also equally important during pregnancy. But that doesn’t mean that the pregnant lady should not do any kind of physical work. The only precaution the pregnant lady has to take is not to overexert her. The pregnant women should engage her time into something that she always wanted to do. This is the time that she can use to take things lightly and stop worrying about the small things related with pregnancy.
