Sexual health is a diverse subject. It is a subject where in all are affected but no one wants to openly talk about it. Both men and women reach puberty at a different age. Each perceives sexuality in a different manner, further complicating the issue of sexual health. Men attains puberty around the age of 11 -12. Small strands of hair develop on private parts and the beard and the moustaches start growing. For women it begins when the women start to menstruate. Hair starts growing in the private parts and breast growth. A woman’s sexual health is more complicated then that of a man. But overall sexual health men and women is a very important aspect of their life.
The reproductive organs in the women start developing. Woman has to undergo various stages in her life as far as sexuality is concerned. She attains puberty, then pregnancy and finally menopause. At each stage, there is she experiences hormonal changes in her body.
Men on the other hand go through different experience in sexual development. They can have problems related to sexually transmitted disease, problems in ejaculation, or the sperm count may be less, so on and so forth. Generally, men have prostate related problems after the age of 65.
Both men and women have many questions regarding their sexuality. These questions are often unasked, unanswered. Many beliefs and misbelieves continue as a result, from generations to generations. Boys and girls try to gather sexual information from Internet or friends, which could be half-baked and may lead to serious problems in life. Many boys in their teens contact sexually transmitted diseases because of lack of understanding and also because they want to experience new found thrill in life. Here is the point when the sexual health men and women should be taught to them.
If there were a problem of erectile dysfunction, men would not even utter a word about it nor consult a doctor about it. They fear that they would become a laughing stock if they discussed their problem. Men with erectile dysfunction are prone to heart disease. Since sexual subject is not openly discussed, if the child is abused sexually, no one would want to talk about it. But sexual abuse in childhood can have long-term impact on the sexual health of the subject. If there were a proper system of imparting sexual knowledge amongst teenagers, many problems would get resolved. To have good sexual health men and women should be true to their respective partners.
Women, as they age, tend to loose interest in sexual activity even if they are otherwise healthy. There could be numerous reasons for the same like:
- Stress: Stress related to work or issues at home or work can result in lack of sexual activity.
- If the levels of Testosterone and Estrogen fall, the women may seem disinterested in sex.
- At the time of menopause, PMS and childbirth, a woman experience a change in the hormonal balance and this can result in lack of sexual desire.
- Mind State: If the mind is upset due to some event of the past or if something tragic has happened, woman will lack sexual desire.
- Women with low blood pressure will have lesser sexual urges.
