Sexually transmitted diseases are spreading very fast and this is mainly due to the ignorance among people regarding various sexually transmitted diseases. Many people who have some or the other sexual disease don’t tell their partner about it and end up spoiling their life too. Till the time one becomes honest with their partner the whole scenario is not going to change. Worldwide several people die due to the sexually transmitted diseases. If you are suffering from herpes and even if your virus is in dormant phase, you can possible transmit this condition in your loved one. So you should learn to accept that you are suffering from sexual condition and should make your partner aware about it.
Even after knowing the several hazards of having unprotected sex many people still end up having unprotected sex with some unknown person and thus add to the number of patients who are suffering from sexually transmitted diseases. Every individual can protect himself or herself from these conditions by asking their partners to wear condom during the sexual act. Condoms act like a barrier during sex and provide protection from the sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Wear the condom carefully as if accidentally the condom fails then you have high risks of getting STDs. Latex condoms are the best but human errors should be avoided while using them.
The testing for sexually transmitted diseases includes the vaginal exam and Pap smear. Blood tests and urine tests also reveal several STDs. IF you have negative test results doesn’t in any way mean that you don’t have the disease. For example the chlamydia condition, in which the virus travels into your reproductive tract and thus the tests come negative. In case of HIV or HPV also if your body has not developed enough antibodies then also the tests might come negative. But that should not prevent you from visiting your healthcare provider.
If you are sexually active, if you have doubts about your partners fidelity and if you yourself indulge in unsafe sex with unknown person then you should regularly test for STDs. In many health departments such tests are done for free or with nominal charges. Many times the sexually transmitted diseases don’t show any symptoms but some symptoms that can be visible after many months of the virus being active in your body are sores or ulcers and discharge.
Mostly women who have sexually transmitted diseases are more likely to show no symptoms. The disease when gets converted into serious complications then only women comes to know about they having STDs. Even though a woman looks healthier from outside there are chances that inside she is affected with some or the other STD. Hence women should not depend on their partner for using protection during sexual intercourse but she herself should take initiative in it. If you experience any kind of abnormal discharge in your vagina or experience some kind of vaginal pain then make sure that you consult your doctor regarding it.
