Warm one side of a flour tortilla (whole wheat preferably) on an oiled skillet. Turn in over and add 2 to 2 tablespoons grated cheese. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook until cheese has melted. Tasty fast snack. Split peas, like adukis, are sometimes easier for Vata to digest, though not every Vata will find this to be true. Split peas tend to be lower in protein than many of the beans and higher in starches. Both Pitta and Kapha can benefit from their use, and can substitute them in recipes calling for black (urud) or (regular) common lentils. |
