- 1 (1pound) package of tofu
- 6 dried Shiitake mushrooms (available in Asian food stores, international section of groceries and in many health food stores.)
- 2 cups water
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon or more tamari (natural soy sauce)
Soak mushrooms in water for 20 minutes. While they are soaking, cut tofu into 1 inch cubes. Put tofu, mushrooms and soaking water into large heavy skillet. Cook covered on medium-low heat for 25 minutes. Add black pepper and tamari, serve. |
