Preparation time: 5 minutes
-Vata, Pitta, + Kapha
- 1 teaspoon miso paste-yellow, white or red
- 1 cup water
- Scallions (optional garnish for Kapha)
Bring the water to a boil. Put the miso in a cup or small bowl. Pour a little of water into the miso, mash with a spoon into a smooth paste. Add the rest of the water and stir well. The miso can be cut to ½ teaspoon per cup of water for a broth which is neutral in effect for Pitta for Kapha. Excellent nerve and stomach calmer for Vata. Hot and soothing on a cold day. The basis for many simple vegetable soups, using steamed vegetables and a bit of cooked rice or soba noodles. |
