First your dentist will apply the whitening product on you and after this you will need to apply it at your home for about two to four weeks. You will be given a time frame from your dentist, for which you will need to keep the whitening product on your teeth. The time can be anything between 30 minutes to one hour.

What is more important here is the cost of tooth whitening. The price taken for such sessions will be different in different parts of the world and it will also vary from one dentist to other dentist. If you choose laser whitening then it will cost you more than the professional bleaching method. Hence you should inquire about the cost at least two to three places before going for the tooth whitening procedure. The whitening once done can remain for about three years. If you will take good dental care after the procedure then it will last for even more years.

There are certain side effects of tooth whitening like the teeth may become sensitive to cold after the procedure. The gums may cause some discomfort too. Apart from this sore throat, white patches on gum line are some other side effects of tooth whitening.
