Many people suffer from headaches and almost all of them know how it feels when one has headache. In today’s very busy lives there is so much work to do that no one will like to waste their time due to headaches and other problems associated with it. Neck pain is also a common symptom of headache. This problem affects them more that have to do work on computers. Such people find it very difficult to continue with their work due to neck pain and headaches. Many of those who suffer from constant headache are also really troubled with the neck pain and other symptoms of headache.
Headache brings with it many other problems like neck pain, head pain, pain in the skull, face and eyes. Many researches indicate that the lack of nerve curve can cause severe neck pains. Such chronic neck pains will cause immense amount of time loss that no one will like to have. Along with affecting your physical health, it will also spoil your emotional health. As there are several causes of headaches, the symptoms of headaches are also different in different type of headaches. Many times headache can also be present as an indication of any of the major conditions like tumor, hypertension, meningitis, etc.
In each of these conditions there will be several effects on your body. For example in meningitis, the membranes that protect the spinal cord and brain by covering them may get infected with bacterial or viral activities. In such case the person suffering from meningitis will get swelling in the neck and back. This will be the beginning for the neck pain and the back pain associated with headaches. In severe cases patients need to get hospitalized for than a week to cure their ailment.
As you know that your face has several muscles that help in the proper movement of the eyes, in formation of the correct expression or facial movements. The muscles of the forehead are connected with the back of the head. In the same manner the neck muscles are joined to the spinal cord at the nape. These muscles are quite weak and hence can easily get strained. More so if you are sitting or sleeping in odd positions for long durations. If you also do weightlifting then you may end up hurting this weak muscles and this could cause neck pain in you.
Working for longer duration on the computer and watching television for long hours that too with sitting or sleeping in odd positions are some of the other reasons of straining the delicate muscles that connect neck with the spinal cord. During fever also you suffer from headache and neck pain due to the infection of these weak muscles.
Preventing Neck Pain -
- Avoid working for long hours on computer. If your work is associated with working on computer for most of the time then take some breaks after every one or two hours.
- You can relax the neck muscles by doing meditation and Yoga. Yoga is very effective remedy for those who are suffering from chronic neck pains.
- Doing regular exercising will help to make the neck and shoulder muscles strong and thus prevent neck pains.
- Try to sit in good postures so as to avoid straining the muscles of neck and shoulder
