Pregnancy Week 11
In pregnancy week 11, your baby is about 1.75 to 2.4 inches long and its weight is about 0.3 of an ounce. Your baby is big enough so that you can hold it in your palm. The growth of the baby is continuous and week-by-week the baby is gaining weight. The skin of your baby will appear paper-thin to you and it will remain so until you reach the final few weeks before your delivery. The skin of the baby is so thin that you can clearly see all the blood vessels inside its body. The baby is now doing enough movements and can easily open and close its fists.
In pregnancy week 11, your baby's fingers and toenails will no longer appear webbed and appear well separated. The baby is enjoying the atmosphere inside your womb and spending most of its time kicking and squirming. In coming three to four weeks, your baby will undergo various changes. And about your growth in pregnancy week 11, there will be no need to tell others about your pregnancy, as your tummy will break the news to everyone. As you know the week 1 to week 12 of your pregnancy are termed under first trimester, week 11 is like reaching the end of the first trimester. But for many pregnant women the tummy doesn’t start showing till the second trimester and such women may find it really frustrated.
By the time you reach in pregnancy week 11, you will start feeling pregnant no matter whether you look pregnant or not. One more thing that you will notice during week 11 and that is the growth of your hair and fingernails will be very rapid. In case you are not noticing any difference then wait in coming weeks you will surely notice it. For those who are still fighting with the morning sickness, good news is that the morning sickness will soon vanish in case it has not vanished yet. From this week onwards, you will start gaining about one pound per week once you will enter in the second trimester. All the early signs of pregnancy will also fade out as you will enter the second trimester.
But it is not the case with all pregnant women, as some women will experience nausea, vomiting, morning sickness and all other signs of pregnancy till the end of the second trimester. Hence there is no need to worry in case you are till suffering from morning sickness. But do visit your doctor regularly to have check ups done. The doctor will make sure that your body is getting proper vitamins and other nutrients. As you know the first trimester is very crucial for the proper implantation and the natural growth of your baby, you will need to eat proper healthy diet.
There will be lots of mood swings and you will need to spend your attention and time in doing something creative so as to avoid the boredom. You can watch some channels that provide information on pregnancy and parenting. This will prepare you for the future parenting responsibility.
