Pregnancy Week 14
In pregnancy week 14, your baby will be approximately 3.2 inches to 4 inches long and be about one ounce in weight. The growth of the baby will happen rapidly and at a steady rate. As the baby's length is also increasing, now its head will not appear large compared to other body parts. Eyes and ears are also getting developed at their places on the face. Your baby's neck will get longer and this will make the chin more visible and the chin will rise up from the chest. Now your body will get all the nutrients from the placenta but still whatever food you will eat can cross the walls of placenta and affect your child. Hence make healthy choices when it comes to food and protect yourself well from house sprays as they can also affect the child by passing through your skin.
In pregnancy week 14, whatever you are eating or inhaling has the capacity to affect the normal growth of your baby. Hence you should consult your doctor and decide a healthy meal option for you. Try to stay in clean and comfortable environment. Smoking or being in a place where someone else is smoking is very injurious for you and the baby. Avoid cleaning the mess done by your pets, mainly cat. This could be responsible for causing severe contracting diseases. If you have pets make someone else clean the mess for you. As far as you can stay away from gardening too, as many times the out door animals may make the place dirty and thus unsafe for you.
In pregnancy week 14, your tummy will definitely start showing. Along with this you may also have constipation in this week. It is quite common condition during pregnancy and the increased amount of iron is responsible for causing it. To avoid getting constipation you will need to assure that you drink plenty of water. Dehydration is main cause behind getting constipation and hence keeping yourself well hydrated is the only solution to prevent constipation. Include fruits and vegetable in your diet instead of foods that have high levels of fibers in them.
In pregnancy week 14, you will feel little energetic and might even consider some exercises to keep yourself fit. There are various pregnancy exercises that you can do, as they are safe and will not harm you or your baby. But it is better to do so with proper guidance from your doctor. As your body has increased levels of hormones, you are more prone to getting injuries. Hence as far as possible avoid doing vigorous exercises. Instead you can do some simple exercises that will provide support to your back. The doctors will advice you against certain exercises that will increase your heartbeat rate. By doing so that doctor will ensure that there will be no lack of oxygen to your baby.Make sure that you will not lift heavy weight during pregnancy, as this will reduce the oxygen supply to your baby. In pregnancy week 14 make sure that you remain enough active without doing over exertion. Remember to enjoy your pregnancy, as this is the time, which gives maximum comfort during other weeks of pregnancy.
