Pregnancy Week 29
In pregnancy week 29, your baby is about 2.7 pounds is weight and more than 16 inches in length. This week is your beginning week in the third trimester. This trimester will bring so many changes and at the end of this trimester your baby will be out there in your hands. Your weight will increase rapidly. Your baby's lungs and muscles too will be under developing and maturing process. Your baby's brain is also under growing several changes. This is the time when your baby needs more nutrition to undergo all these developmental and maturity stages. Hence your main work in this week and the coming weeks is to eat well and take proper rest.
In pregnancy week 29, your uterus will be 3.5 inches to 4 inches above your belly button. Your weight gain will be about 25 to 26 pounds by 29th week of the pregnancy. You will look heavily pregnant from this week onwards. You will feel little scared about the labor and the delivery in this week, as it is the beginning of the third trimester. You will again get heartburn and this time the heartburn will be more troublesome compared to the earlier one. Your baby's movements will be regular and you should notice these movements without fail. In case you notice that there is no baby movement of the movement is less then you should meet your doctor without wasting any time.
You will need to eat frequent but small meals all through the day. Your doctors will advice you to eat after every three to four hours. Your baby is growing rapidly and it needs nutrition for proper development. Your digestive system will work slowly considering there is no place in your tummy; you should eat several meals in a day. You should keep yourself well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. This will prevent you from getting constipation and hemorrhoids. Now as you know you are very near to your due date, you should enjoy this time and take care of your health as much as you can. You can relax your body as much possible, for this go for facial and other spa treatments.
This is the time when you would spend maximum time with your partner and plan for your future along with the baby's future. Try to do certain things together like going for movies, or going for romantic date, etc. Remember after this your baby will always be with you and hence you will not get such private time ever for few years at least. If you have another child then you can arrange someone to look after them and spend some time with just your partner. In case you get terrible leg aches and too much swelling in the leg then consult your doctor and take proper rest. For this reason by pregnancy pillow, which will provide proper support to your back while sleeping and thus will not allow any kind of swelling in your legs. Pregnancy pillow will also helpful after your delivery to support your child when you hold it in your arms.
