Pregnancy Week 3
In the pregnancy week 3, you will appear same that means there will be no change in your belly size but there will be lot of changes that will happen continuously inside your body. The size of your zygote will be about 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm. There will be three layers that will be protecting your baby. These three layers are ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm. These three layers are not visible in the third week of pregnancy but soon they will form the nervous system and brain, stomach and inner organs and skeleton and connective tissues of your baby respectively. Your baby will look like a tiny pear in this stage of pregnancy. It goes without saying that the round part of the pear will become the head and the pointed part of the pear will become the spine of your baby.
The amazing part of the pregnancy week 3 is at the end of this week that is at about 21st day, the tiny pear shaped baby will have heartbeats too. The heart and the valves will not be developed but still you can hear the heartbeat of your child. In few weeks the heart and other important organs of your baby's body will start developing and functioning well. As far as you are considered, you will still experience the same kind of symptoms that you experienced in the first and second week of pregnancy. Frequent urination, tender breasts, fatigue and swollen breasts are a very expected signs that your body will show in the third week of the pregnancy.
There is no need to worry about any of these symptoms, as soon you will get relief from these symptoms. The symptoms will be different for different pregnant ladies and hence you should not expect or compare your symptoms of pregnancy with other pregnant women's. Some of the symptoms will change and soon some new symptoms will appear but there is no need to worry about them. Your baby's bones will start forming in this week and hence your body will use calcium from your body to build the bones for your baby. This means lack of calcium in your body. Hence you will need to take proper calcium intake. For this reason your doctor will give you calcium supplements.
For those who are carrying twins or those who had history of substance abuse or any chronic disease, the need of calcium supplements is more, as your body might experience lack of vitamins during the pregnancy. That is why it is said that those women who take up pregnancy after the age of 35 are more prone to get various pregnancy complications, as they lack the calcium present in their body with growing age. For this reason if you are carrying pregnancy after the age of 35, you should consult your doctor so as to avoid getting into any pregnancy complications in your pregnancy term.In pregnancy week 3, the fertilized egg gets implanted in the uterus and this can cause implantation bleeding in some of the woman. In this week itself your body will release early pregnancy factor known as EPF, it is a kind of immune-suppressant protein. The work of EPF is to prevent your body from harming the baby thinking the baby as invader. In this week the cell divisions will also occur rapidly. The diameter of your baby will be 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm in this week.
