Pregnancy Week 34
In pregnancy week 34, your baby is 5 pounds in weight and about 20 inches in length. The growth will occur continuously in this week too. Your baby is growing in size and finding it difficult to accommodate itself inside the space in your womb. Your baby's main task in this week is to grow more in size so that it can fill out the entire space inside your womb. Your baby is not undergoing many changes though but it is continuously gaining fat layers over its skin. The weight of your baby can be more also or can be less also depending upon the rate at which it is growing but on an average the weigh of the baby will be near about 5 pounds. This same rule works for the length of your baby too. As each child is unique, its growth rate too will be unique.
The weight of each child will be different and the rate at which it will gain the weight will also be different. There are several factors on which the weight gain of your baby depends. The ultrasound results will also not be able to provide you the exact weight of your baby, as the amniotic fluid and the placenta surround your baby. But the weight predicted by ultrasound reports is believed to be the most accurate weight of your baby. The doctor will be able to tell you clearly about how much your baby's weight and length is. Not only this but the doctor can also give you the exact diameter of your baby's head, circumference of the head and abdomen.
In pregnancy week 34, your uterus is about 5.6 inches above your navel. It is not necessary that all the pregnant women in 34th week will look similar as far as the size of their tummy is considered. This happens, as every pregnant woman will not carry her baby in the same fashion inside her tummy. Some mothers will carry the baby in wide or others will carry it little higher or lower than that. Many old wives tales predict the sex of the baby depending upon the way the pregnant lady is carrying her baby. But these guess games are fun and you too can do some guesswork in case you have decided not to know the sex of your baby until the delivery.
In pregnancy week 34, you will feel more uncomfortable. Your anxiety regarding the due date will increase and you will feel restless more than often. Many pregnant women start getting worried about whether they will have a normal delivery or not. It is not necessary that because you are healthy, you will have normal delivery only and if you are petite, you will not. Your doctor also cannot tell before the actual delivery day, whether you will have normal delivery or not. Many also feel if their baby is more in weight it will not fit in their pelvis but that is also a myth. Many pregnant women have delivered babies weighing 8 pounds or more.
