Pregnancy Week 36
In pregnancy week 36, your baby is about 6 pounds in weight and 20.6 inches in length. In case you continue through the next weeks of pregnancy, your baby will gain more weight than this. Your baby will keep on gaining weight in this week along with gaining the layers of fat on its skin. This is the only main job that your baby will do from now onwards. If you will see in ultrasound in this week, you will find a smile on your baby's face. Many researchers believe that the labor signal is given to your body only when your baby releases the signal that triggers the labor. But there are many theories to how the labor pains start. Many theories are based on a single reason according to which, the developed brain of the baby sends signal to the fetal adrenal glands and then the labor pains start.
But some other theories think that the matured lungs of the baby send the signal that triggers the labor. The matured lungs of your baby start releasing prostaglandins, which make the uterus contract and the cervix to become ripe. In the pregnancy week 36, your uterus is above 5.5 inches above your navel. You will continue growing in size and in weight. In the coming four weeks the growth of you and the baby will happen like a continue procedure. But there is no need to worry thinking now how much more you can grow, as your abdomen and uterus can stretch up to nay limits. But no worries here again, as within one month of your delivery the uterus and the abdomen will be back to its pre-pregnancy size.
In pregnancy week 36, you are finding it difficult to wait anymore. You just wan the baby to come in this world, as you are thinking that since so many years you are waiting for your baby to come in your arms. But there are chances that your baby will still take 4 more weeks to come in this world. Many babies take full gestation time to come in this world and the full gestation time is anything between 37 to 41 weeks. Your doctor might have given a due date based on the ultrasound reports. But there are many pregnant women who deliver just before or just after the due date. That means only few pregnant women are there who have delivered on the exact due date.
In pregnancy week 36, the level of amniotic fluid in your body will be constant but your baby will keep on swallowing some of this fluid on a daily basis. But there is no need to worry, as the baby will excrete this fluid via its urine. There will be proper balance of the amniotic fluid in your tummy but there are some rare chances that amniotic fluid in your body might increase or decrease. Such abnormalities in the level of amniotic fluid are pretty common in the third trimester of pregnancy. The doctor will keep a check on the levels of amniotic fluid when he will call you for weekly check up. Hence in case of any abnormality in the amniotic fluid level, the doctor will take decisions regarding the delivery.
