Pregnancy Week 4
The growth of your baby in the pregnancy week 4 is very minute. The baby will be about 0.5 mm to 1 mm long. But from the fourth week onwards the baby will grow very rapidly. Your body will try to implant your baby properly in the uterus so that the baby remains safe and well protected inside your womb. Your uterus will act like a home for your baby in the nine months of pregnancy. In this week also the amniotic cavity and placenta will be in the forming stage. After this week there will be various changes in your baby and in you also on a weekly basis. With you in 4th week of pregnancy, almost one month of pregnancy is over and you might just wonder how soon the days are going.
The placenta that protects you baby is made up f vascular networks and blood from your body. These vascular networks and the blood will supply oxygen and nutrients to your baby. Also the cell growth will be continuing in this week also, these cells only will form the organs and other body parts for your baby. Fourth week of pregnancy is also considered as the embryonic period. As you know this is the crucial time, as the baby should get implanted properly in the uterus. In the first three months of pregnancy the risk of miscarriage is also more. Hence you must take a very good care of you. Even a small injury can lead to miscarriage, so take care.
In case you get any injury, even if it seems to be minor, consult your doctor and bring this to their notice. Alcohol and tobacco are worst in pregnancy and hence stay away from consuming them. Your baby is very important to you and hence don’t look for your own pleasure and indulge in any kind of substance abuse. As you know the end of four weeks is the time in which you would have got your periods if you were not pregnant. Hence for those women who still don’t know that they are pregnant, the fourth week surely brings the joy and gives the good news about being pregnant.
In the pregnancy week 4, there will be many changes in you and in fact from this week onwards you will start realizing about the changes in you. The tired feeling will be more and many times you will experience the same kind of symptoms that you experience when your menses are near. Nausea and cramping are also few of the common pregnancy symptoms that will be more prominent in the fourth week of the pregnancy. There are few women who expect that their periods will come but actually get big surprise when their doctor tells them about their pregnancy. And the biggest shock comes when the doctor says you are one month pregnant.
If in the pregnancy week 4, you will do the home test to check pregnancy it might come positive or negative. It comes negative as the hCG levels are still less to get detected by the home pregnancy kit. Hence do the test again after one week. You will need to visit your doctor, once you get positive result on your pregnancy test kit. Your doctors will advice you all about pregnancy and what care you will need to take, etc.
