Pregnancy Week 9
In pregnancy week 9, your baby will be approximately 22 mm to 30 mm long. Your baby will be of about one pound in weight by 9th week of pregnancy. But as you will pass through all the pregnancy weeks one after the other, the baby will also keep on gaining weight. The growth of the baby will be very good in the pregnancy week 9. Your baby's will have arms, legs and torso in proper place. The head of the baby will appear large but the baby will look same like a miniature human being. Your baby's vital oranges and limbs are getting formed and the baby is gaining the weight also. The tail of the baby will be not seen now onwards.
In pregnancy week 9, your baby's all the vital organs and muscles will be functioning very well and on their own. The eyes of your baby will be closed and it will remain closed till the 27th week of the pregnancy. Your baby's face will also appear proper with mouth, nose, eyes and nostrils well developed. The sex organs of your baby will also be developed by now. The doctor will not be able to tell the sex of your baby right, as the organs will take about 18 to 20 weeks to develop properly. The baby's heart will have properly divided four chambers.
In pregnancy week 9, you will also experience growth in your uterus. You will feel bloated and the fatigue will be on a very high level. Your weight gain will be very rapid and this happens due the increased fluid levels inside the body. You will start gaining anything from 1 to 5 pounds on a daily basis now onwards. There will be lots of fluctuations in your weight but there is no need to worry about it. It is good to check your weight on a weekly basis rather than doing it on a daily basis. You will start worrying about the kind of clothes that you should wear and for that you will need to look out for maternity clothes.
No matter how much weight you are gaining during pregnancy, the birth weight of your child will be something between 6 to 8 pounds. The weight of your expanded uterus is itself 2 pounds, the placenta weights about 1.5 pounds, breasts tissues can weigh up to 1.5 to 2 pounds, the fluid retained inside your body also weighs up to 4 pounds and the blood volume will weigh up to 4 pounds. Hence it is not necessary that if your weight is more, your baby's birth weight will also be more. The fat that will get stored in your body will weight up to 7 pounds. Hence if you will count overall you will gain about 18 to 35 pounds during the entire term of your pregnancy. From the pregnancy week 9 onwards, your weight will start increasing rapidly.From pregnancy week 9 onwards, you will start getting mood swings too. You will have less control over your feelings and you will suddenly become grumpy while sometimes suddenly become bubbly and happy. You will feel anxious and cry for small things too. This all can be due to the changed hormonal levels inside your body.
