Athlete’s foot is a type of infection on the foot skin that causes itching, scaling, cracking and severe pain. Generally, it is caused by the growth of fungi or yeast named Candida Albicans on the foot surface and leads to different skin problems. This infection can occur by walking bare foot at unhygienic places. However, it can be prevented by various useful home remedies.
Cider vinegar of apple is the oldest and best remedy to cure a variety of health ailments. It is a good source of potassium that helps in the development of skin cells. It helps to treat infections, skin disorders and digestion problems. So it is natural and inexpensive way to get relief from the painful hazards caused due to this fungal infection (dermatophytes). This type of vinegar can be made by crushing some apples and then extract the juice from this material. Now add yeast and sugar to support the process of fermentation. This will help sugar to turn into alcohol and then bacteria convert this alcohol to vinegar.
Garlic is beneficial to heal dry skin and remove the dead skin. One can try yogurt also to soothe the skin. Solution of warm water and Epsom salt is generally recommended by the doctors to clean the foot. People should change their socks regularly and wear clean and dry socks. One can sprinkle boric acid in the socks also.
Using a mixture of aspirin and alcohol is positive and must be applied after bath or shower.

Keeping the skin dry is one of basic rule to prevent athlete’s foot. So, people suffering from such disease should rub a mixture of baking soda and lukewarm water. Corn starch plays an effective role in sopping the moisture. One should clean toe nails properly and regularly as the fungus is likely to breed more in toe nails.
Make use of hair dryer to stop the growth of fungi. Bleach powder plus water is a successful solution to be applied on affected skin.
Athlete’s foot causes irritation problems which are very uncomfortable. To avoid such skin disorders, a variety of products for foot care are available in the market. The products can be expensive and contain some harmful chemicals also. So, use home remedies for skin care instead of these artificial products. If athlete’s foot doesn’t get treated with some home remedies, then one should consult a doctor.
