Hemorrhoids - Home remedies - An organic approach for treatment!
Hemorrhoids (or piles) refer to reddened and swollen veins in rectum and anus of humans. They may be caused by straining during bowel movement. Other causative factors may include anal intercourse, aging, pregnancy, diarrhea or constant constipation, etc. Various symptoms of piles are burning, pain and itching in the rectal parts, particularly while sitting.
This problem is found in both males and females and about 50 percent of the population gets affected by piles by the age of 50. Hemorrhoids can be easily treated by following some of the remedies at home. These are listed as follows:
Garlic and onion are great anti-inflammatory agents, so they can be utilized to put a stop to further inflammation. Simply peel the cover of garlic and place it inside the rectal area. Next day, it will come out by itself along with the stool. This remedy is not suggested for people who are suffering from bleeding piles.
Ice packs provide an immediate respite from the problem of hemorrhoids. One simple has to wrap some ice cubes in a cloth and apply on the affected part. Take care that ice should not come in direct contact with anus because it can then cause burns to the infected area.
Cranberries can also be used to cure hemorrhoids. Take few cranberries and blend them in a mixer. After that, put a little cheese in it. Wrap it in a cloth and hold it near the infected area for an hour. This will provide an immediate relief from the pain and itching.
Consume few bran cereals every day, as they are high in fiber content. However, they need to be taken in moderate quantity as they can result in upset stomach if eaten in large amounts.
Black and red currants contain a lot of rutin and minerals, which help in relieving irritation & pain in the rectal area.
Sitz bath is also an effective remedy to cure piles. In this method, an individual needs to soak the rectal part in a tub of hot water for 15 minutes. After that, wipe the area very gently using soft towel or cloth. Repeat it for 3 to 4 times in a day.
Aloe Vera is an organic antibiotic which can help a person in getting relief from itching, burning and pain. Apply gel of Aloe Vera directly to the pile several times in a day.
Witch hazel can also be used to cure hemorrhoids. Apply it on the infected parts using cotton balls 3 to 4 times in a day. It will help in relieving few symptoms such as pain and swelling in the veins.
These remedies can be easily employed at home. However, take the precautions that are associated with each of these remedies so that they can give best results.
