All women have to go through the process of menopause once in a lifetime. Some ladies easily breeze through this process; while others experience very tough time. Vitamin E – This vitamin is an organic antioxidant that helps in combating night sweats and hot flashes. The temperature of the body rises by approx. 8 degrees during warm flashes. So it is very important to keep the surroundings cool so that body can recover after a hot flash.
Soy – Soy includes plant estrogens named phyto-estrogens that help a woman to cope up with night sweats and hot flashes. Daily dietary recommendations of soy are 50 gm. Over consumption of this food product could be harmful for health. Various sources of soy are fortified soy milk, soy flour, soy beans and tofu.
Oranges – Oranges or other products, rich in vitamin C, are an organic immune booster. Papaya, sweet potatoes, peppers and grapefruit are other sources of vitamin C.
Alfalfa sprouts – Estrogen contained in alfalfa helps in preventing thinning of walls of vagina. Estrogen can be found in other products like soy and flaxseed.
Parsley – This herb can help in relieving pains and aches in joints. Make parsley tea and drink it 2 to 3 times in a day.
Sage – Drinking sage tea helps in lessening the symptoms such as hot flashes and sweating. Prepare sage tea by mixing 1 spoon dry sage in 1 cup boiling water. Mix little amount of honey to make it sweet and add lemon for getting a unique flavor. Drink one to two mugs in a day.
Chamomile – When taken along with valerian, Chamomile can help a woman in sleeping better during menopausal phase. Use these 2 herbs together to prepare a tea and drink it before going to bed.
Olive oil – Dry facial skin is one of the common symptoms of menopause. Mix 1 tsp salt in 1 tsp olive oil. Massage it on the throat and face. It helps in eradicating dead cells of the skin and moisturizes the skin surface. After some time, clean the face with soap.
Black cohosh – Black cohosh has been extensively studied in Europe for its capability to ease hot flashes and other effects associated with menopause. It helps greatly with changes in temper and to sleep better.
Primrose oil - This type of oil is useful for situations like breast tenderness, premenstrual syndrome (or PMS) and other problems associated with menstrual cycle of the ladies.
Menopause is a natural phenomenon and no lady can prevent it from occurring. However, women can employ one of these remedies to treat the symptoms and problems, which are directly or indirectly associated with this phenomenon.
